I began making these Contemporary Urban American Primitive Wall Masks around 1987.  As a combination signpainter/starving artist, I had been making junk sculptures of all kinds of creatures and the Masks are an outgrowth of that period.  Now, 31 years later, I still greatly enjoy them.
